Summer Daily Fun Week 2

Daily Fun Week 2

Monday
On Monday we had some ice play fun.
The day before I gathered some fun little toys and put them in plastic bins, filled them with water, and froze them.

Monday morning we took them outside and the kids had about an hour of fun freeing the toys from the block.  Dakota also enjoyed eating the ice!!
I froze half paint and half water in ice cube tray and let the kids paint with them.  We added a little shaving cream to the ground for more fun.

They got a bored with this and somehow they ended up painting themselves, which was hilarious.  Then I got to spray them down with the water hose, which I love!!

Tuesday

Tuesday morning started out slow as it was yucky weather. We watched some Full House and colored.  Never underestimate how much fun you can have with simply things.  My kids love that I color with them.  I even have my own book and color box!!

We had a little free baby doll playtime.  This little guy is Jon Jon and he has been with us for a few years as you can probably tell.  He is my favorite doll ever!!

Next we went for our weekly Burger King visit for 50 percent ice cream as the kids call it. Maddie even joined us this week which was awesome.
Next we headed to our first library day this week. Their theme was worms which was cool because our theme day this week is Dirt Day!!  The kids got to do fun activities and color a wooden worm to bring home.

This was too sweet.  She had her arm around her brother during story time, a rare occurrence!
Ally with her wooden worm

After library we went home for some more playtime.  After seeing the Reptile Man last week the kids wanted to do their own animal exhibits.  So they gathered their own animals and put them in cages and took turns telling us all about their animals and letting us pet them.  This was too adorable!!
Her baby chicks that we got to hold and pet!!
Her 14 year old Panda that we got to pet!
This was Hammie the hamster we got to pet, he is very old.  She made this face as she was telling her brother that he would not be allowed to pet anymore of her animals if he could not be gentle.

This is his bumble bee. He has only stung him 5 times and he has to put a band aid on when he stings.

Her reaction to his bee!!

This is whitey and he is 94 years old and he weighs 74lbs!

Next we played library.  Each of the kids have book cases on their side of the playroom.  They set up their computers and got stamps to date the books I checked out.  They had a blast doing this and even continued playing long after I went to make dinner.

Wednesday
It is a very rare and wonderful occasion these days that my kids play together well without me. Although I have our entire summer pretty much planned out, I threw that plan out the window this morning and just let the kids PLAY while they were not trying to kill each other.  It was some form hilarious Barbie's.  I love just sneaking up and listening to them play!!

After a couple of hours of playing, they were ready for some planned fun.  So we did some wet chalk on black paper drawings.

They turned out so cute and bright and are now living on our refrigerator.

Dakota wanted to paint with his foot, Ally didn't want to put paint on her foot.  He loved it!!

Next we read McElligot's pool and had fish sandwiches for lunch.

We cut the bottom out of gallon jugs, the kids decorated them and they play catch with them with a ball.  They LOVE this.

Then it was time for our second weekly library trip to see the Noise Guy.

He was hilarious!!  The kids along with myself laughed for a whole hour!!

Thursday
Thursday was our themed Dirt/Mud Day(see Mud Day post).  It was tooo much fun!!

On Friday, the kids spent time at nana's house, which they also love.

Saturday
The kids stayed the night with their Nana so when they arrived home they were surprised by a fort I built in their room.  Now I am not a very good fort builder!!  After 3 sheets, some pony tail holders, clips, an hour of huffing and puffing and alot of help from Madison the fort was finally done.  They were so excited!!  They played in it and then we told ghost stories with flash lights and read our bedtime story in their with our flashlights.

Sunday
On Sunday the kids and I met Daphne and Bri Bri for a trip to the beach.  We had a blast and stopped for our 50 percent ice cream on the way home.  Maddie went, but avoided pics all day!!
